Frequently asked questions
What is supplement “stacking”?
Stacking is taking multiple products that contain the same nutrient. A multivitamin plus a B-complex plus an energy drink can quietly add up — sometimes above the Tolerable Upper Intake Level for nutrients like vitamin B6, niacin, or zinc.
How does VitaCheck decide what may be redundant?
We sum each nutrient across the products you take, compare it to widely cited reference intakes, and flag items where most of the dose appears to already be covered. Wording is deliberately cautious — for example, “may be redundant depending on your diet.”
Do I really need a multivitamin?
It depends on your diet, age, and life stage. A varied diet often covers the basics; restrictive diets, pregnancy, older age, or certain medications can make targeted supplementation reasonable. We surface likely gaps rather than prescribe.
Can VitaCheck replace my doctor or dietitian?
No. VitaCheck is educational. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified clinician before changing supplements, especially with pregnancy, nursing, chronic conditions, or prescription medications.
Where do retailer links go?
Links route to category searches on retailers such as Amazon, iHerb, and Walmart so you can compare form, dose, and third-party testing. Some are affiliate links; commissions never influence our recommendations.
How is my data handled?
We store only what you enter into the check, tied to an anonymous session ID. You can delete every row at any time. We never sell your data and never share it with brands.
Does VitaCheck consider drug interactions?
We flag well-known interaction categories at a high level, but interaction screening is not a substitute for a pharmacist or clinician review. Confirm anything sensitive with a professional.
How often should I recheck my stack?
Most people benefit from a recheck every 6–8 weeks, or sooner after a diet change, pregnancy, a new prescription, or a new supplement.
